Inheritance Tax

You have worked hard for your money throughout your life. So you’ll want to pass it on to the right people. Unfortunately, the taxman could have other ideas!

Through Inheritance Tax HM Revenue and Customs could receive a large amount of your money when you die. The good news is, it’s easy to reduce your liability to inheritance tax, or maybe not even have to pay it at all. This is where Fox Payne’s advisers may be able to help. By talking to you about the choices you have, they’ll help you to leave more of your money to the people you care about. HM Revenue and Customs practice and the law relating to taxation are complex and subject to individual circumstances and changes which cannot be foreseen.

Dying without leaving a will is known as ‘dying in testate’ and the result may be that some of your intended beneficiaries will be unable to benefit from any part of your estate. (‘Estate’ is simply the legal term for the value of everything you own.) Making promises to beneficiaries does not guarantee anything. A will is a simple and straightforward document. It’s a clear statement of exactly what you want to happen to your property when you die. It’s not a legal requirement to use a solicitor or a professional will writing service, but we strongly recommend it.

Will Writing is not part of the Openwork Limited offering and is offered in our own right. Openwork Limited accept no responsibility for this aspect of our business. Will Writing is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

You have already taken the time to make plans for the future. Now you’d like your carefully laid plans to unfold the way you want them to. This is where trusts come in. They can help make sure the people you care about get the maximum benefit from the plans you have made.

A trust is simply a way to give something away with certain strings attached. This gift could be a life assurance plan, (including an investment bond), shares, property….basically anything of value. Fox Payne Associates will help you choose the right trust/s for you and your loved ones.
